The Cyclades has been purpose built for our adventure market and comes with all the trimmings including 4 double berths and one bunks cabin with three generous shower / toilet compartments for our clients (an additional skippers cabin and heads is forward), generator for 240 volt power whilst on passage, flat screen TV and ample water supplies we are taking our adventures to the next (more comfortable!) level whilst never compromising on the quality of our training. Due to the vessel still being built, we lack our own photos. As soon as she is launched we will replace these, but for the moment here are some stock shots of a sister ship. Both of Alfer’s Sunfasts have been extensively modified by Jeanneau agents to enhance the stiffness of the yacht, this enables the vessels to better cope with the rigors associated with training and charter work. They are both category 2 coded for six people with the RYA, and equipped with the highest standard of safety equipment. One of Alfer’s philosophies is that “just good enough, is not good enough”. Alfer believes that an effective learning environment centres around the clients confidence in their instructors, the boat and the equipment. Because of this belief Alfer has ensured that the vessels, and the equipment carried, exceed the recommendations for a category 2 coding. Their vessels also carry a full complement of sails, comprising of numbers 1, 2 and 3 headsails, storm jib, tri-sail and deep reefed main. Alfer is unique in their ability to instruct their clients’ in both the use of furling sails, and the more traditional manner of how to change sails whilst underway. Another of Alfer’s philosophies is that, “the more you know, the easier it gets”, as you are able to appreciate the common denominators. Alfer intends to teach you how to sail efficiently as well as how to cruise enjoyably.
